Rowena Tam is an ESL specialist, writer and columnist who has spent her career helping Chinese learners both children and adults learn English faster and easier — from their first letter sound to their final exam. With Miss Rita, Miss Rowena developed Double R Amalgam, published by Hong Kong CQ Center Company Limited, and today her method lives across fifteen learning platforms.

Rowena Tam (露雲娜老師) is a Hong Kong English teacher and author with over 30 years of classroom experience. She is the founder of Double R Amalgam 英語整合法, a teaching method designed specifically for Chinese learners of English.
The method fuses Chinese and English into one learning system. Where the two languages share structure, students use what they already know. Where they differ, students are taught the difference directly — before it becomes a habit. This is why the method works for learners from kindergarten through adulthood.
Rowena Tam has written 60 grammar books, 30 phonics books, and over 200 English readers. She runs school programmes across Hong Kong and publishes regularly on English teaching for Chinese learners.
